Scott Tinsley (Monte Vista Christian), Univ. of Redlands, Jr.: The defensive back recorded a team-high 10tackles — including 2½ for losses — and intercepte­d two passes on Saturday in Redlands’ 34-18win over Pomona-Pitzer. A transfer from Azusa Pacific — which shut down its program following the 2019 season — he ranks second on the Bulldogs in tackles with 37this season.

Marcos Reyes (Aptos), Chapman Univ., Jr.:

The running back rushed for two touchdowns and a season-high 55 yards on nine carries Saturday in the Panthers’ 42-13 victory over Cal Lutheran. He also hauled in a 53-yard touchdown pass and amassed 110 total yards (60 receiving, 50 rushing) on Oct. 9 in Chapman’s 57-14 triumph over Whittier.

Men’s cross country Raymond Brookman (Santa Cruz), Massachuse­tts Institute of Technology, Fr.:

Brookman came in second out of 207 runners at Saturday’s Connecticu­t College Invitation­al, finishing the 8,000-meter race with a time of 25minutes, 39.5seconds.

Women’s cross country

Abbey Meck (San Lorenzo Valley), Santa Clara Univ., Jr.: Meck placed ninth out of 143 runners Saturday at SCU’s Bronco Invitation­al on Saturday, completing the 6,000-meter race in 20minutes, 41.7 seconds .

Cate Ratliff (Santa Cruz), Cal Poly Distance Club:

Ratliff won the Open Division race Saturday at the Bronco Invitation­al, beating the pack with a time of 21:23.4.

Lila Roake (Santa Cruz), Cal Poly, Fr.: Roake came in 12th in the Open Division at the Bronco Invitation­al, earning a time of 22:59.6.

Jessica Kain (Scotts Valley), San Diego State, Jr.: Kain finished 23rd out of 261 runners at UC Riverside’s 6,000-meter Highlander Invitation­al on Saturday, clocking in with a time of 21:35.0.

Women’s volleyball

Peyton Dueck (Aptos), Cal Poly San Luis

Obispo, Fr.: As of last Saturday, the libero ranked second in the Big West Conference in digs (279) and fourth in service aces (23). She has led Cal Poly in digs in three of its past four matches, recording 16 apiece in the Mustangs’ three-set win over UC Riverside on Oct. 7and their three-set loss at Hawaii on Friday.

Elizabeth McGrath (Aptos), Post Univ. (Conn.), Grad.: The setter recorded a season-high 50assists on Oct. 7in the Eagles’ four-set victory at Caldwell (N.J.). McKinley Fox (Santa Cruz native/Santa Catalina), Marist College (N.Y.), Sr.: The setter dished out 56assists Oct. 9in the Red Foxes’ four-set victory over Canisius College.

Men’s soccer

Adrian Rebollar (Watsonvill­e), Cal State Monterey Bay, Sr.: The midfielder scored both of the Otters’ goals last Thursday in their 2-2 tie with San Francisco State. He also assisted on the winning goal Oct. 8in CSUMB’s 1-0 victory over Chico State and had another assist on Sunday in the Otters’ 3-0 win over Sonoma State.

Women’s swimming

Ella Mazurek (Soquel), Cal, Fr.: Mazurek swam for the Golden Bears’ first-place 200- and 400-yard freestyle relay squads Oct. 8-9 at the Chick-fil-A Invitation­al in Fresno. Individual­ly, she placed second in the 50freestyl­e (22.90seconds), and third in the 100 free (50.64).

Men’s swimming Spencer Clarke (Aptos), Fordham (N.Y.), Sr.:

Clarke won the 50-yard backstroke last Friday in the Rams’ season-opening victory over Manhattan, touching the wall with a time of 24.13 seconds. He also swam the backstroke (opening) leg of Fordham’s triumphant 200 medley relay.

Men’s water polo

Danny Meisel (Santa Cruz native/Stevenson), Chapman Univ., Jr.: The goalkeeper recorded 12 saves against Caltech and 13 against Westcliff on Saturday, enabling the Panthers to clinch victories over both schools.
