Aptos boys basketball tops Wilcox

Senior guard/forward Cameron Saldana scored 23 points, and the Aptos High boys basketball team beat host Wilcox 58-55 in overtime in its nonleague game Thursday.

Saldana missed the final three minutes of regulation and all of overtime with cramps.

Senior point guard Max Beldah scored 12 points and was 8-for-8 shooting from the free-throw line. Senior center Jack Spineli had a double-double with 13 points and 20 rebounds.

Aptos (3-0) plays at North Monterey County on Tuesday.

PACIFIC BAY CHRISTIAN 63, KIRBY 40 >> Nico Jones had 12 points, four rebounds and two blocks in the Griffins’ loss at the Pescadero Hoop Dreams Tournament on Thursday.

Rain Li had eight points, five rebounds and two steals for the Griffins, who face host Pescadero on Friday at 4 p.m.

STEVENSON 58, WATSONVILL­E 51 >> Brody Legions scored 13 points and Richie Ortiz scored 12 in the Wildcatz’s loss in the Alisal Solis-Miles Tournament on Thursday.

Darnell Adler had 17 points, 11 rebounds, and five steals for the Pirates.

The Wildcatz (0-3) play Pacific Point at Gilroy on Wednesday at 8 p.m.

Girls soccer

AT APTOS 1, LOS ALTOS 0 >> Jazmine Castaneda scored in the 68th minute on an assist from Kelsea Ford in the teams’ nonleague game Thursday.

Goalie Kylie Nelson made seven saves for the Mariners (2-0-1), who host North Salinas on Saturday at noon.

Girls basketball

APTOS 67, NORTH MONTEREY COUNTY 30 >> Jaylen Dang scored 20 points, giving her 38 total through two Mariners wins in the Watsonvill­e Tournament on Thursday.

Miricole Baity made three 3-pointers and finished with 15 points to go along with five rebounds. Jasmine Ackerman had nine points and seven rebounds, and teammate Grace Parry added eight points.

AT WATSONVILL­E 57, SLV 28 >> The Wildcatz rolled at the Watsonvill­e Tournament on Thursday night.

The Cougars were led by senior forward Abby Lahey with six points and six rebounds. Hannah Morley also contribute­d six points in the loss.

The Cougars (2-2) wrap up in Watsonvill­e on Saturday against Harbor at 11:30 a.m.

HALF MOON BAY 61, SCOTTS VALLEY 45 >> Senior Kaitlin Imai had 27 points, six steals and two blocks in the Falcons’ loss at the Watsonvill­e

Tournament on Thursday.

Junior Audrey Watson had six points and 12 rebounds for the Falcons, and senior Ava Turowski added eight points and five rebounds.

The Falcons face North Monterey County in the Watsonvill­e Tournament on Saturday.

Boys soccer STEVENSON 2, AT SOQUEL 0 >>

Ardan Dorrian and Nico Collignon scored goals in the Pirates’ nonleague win over the Knights on Thursday.

Pirates goalie Luke Brandler made five saves in the shutout.
