Niklaus leads Scotts Valley girls lacrosse past Salinas
Sofia Niklaus had six goals and one assist, and Scotts Valley High girls lacrosse team beat Salinas 11-3 on Wednesday.
Niklaus had nine draw possessions and four draw controls.
Skylar Dufour had three goals, one assist, three draw possessions, and six draw controls for the Falcons. Niklaus and Dufour also caused five and three turnovers, respectively.
Claire Skinner scored two goals and also got a draw control and a draw possession. Stella Cheney tallied one assist.
Scotts Valley (8-1) plays at Stevenson on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
Boys tennis AT SCOTTS VALLEY 6, SOQUEL 1 >>
The Falcons won three of four singles matches, all in straight sets, and swept the two doubles matches in their Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League win Wednesday.

The Knights earned their lone win at No. 1 singles, where senior Benja
Bellito beat senior Marshall Dodge 6-1, 6-1.
In other singles action, senior James Delaney beat Adrian Hagedorn 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2, senior Henry Spitzer beat Americo Castillo 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 and junior Elijah Diamond beat Leo Hagedorn 6-1, 6-3 at No. 4.
In doubles play, Jules Dudek and Aditya Hannon beat Jack Irving and Colby Negro 6-4, 6-3 at No. 1 and Hunter Young and Gabriel Dodge beat Nate Marcus and Liam Stiller 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8) at No. 2.
On Thursday at 4:30 p.m., Scotts Valley (8-1) hosts SLV (1-8) on senior
day, and Soquel (4-5) hosts Harbor (1-8).
Boys track and field
WATSONVILLE, NMC AT ALVAREZ >> Senior Giancarlo Mendo and junior Nathaniel Aceves-Aguilar each won three individual events in the teams' PCAL meet Wednesday.
Mendo took first in the 800 (2:04.47), 1,600 (4:35.33) and 3,200 (10:33.58), and Aceves-Aguilar took first in the pole vault (5 feet, 8 inches), long jump (20-9), a personal record, and triple jump (40-3.5).
Wildcatz senior Joshua Murillo tied for first in the
pole vault (9-6). Junior Patrick Miller-Brown (300 hurdles, 43.98) and sophomore Lisandro Pantoja (discus, 120-5.5) also earned wins.
