In support of the communities it serves, CHRISTUS St. Vincent provides millions of dollars in uncompensated care to patients who cannot afford their care or whose insurance does not cover the cost. Additionally, over $1 million annually is provided to smaller community nonprofits who provide a safety net to the region, including substance abuse, behavioral health and crisis care.

CHRISTUS St. Vincent recently announced a $44 million dollar expansion and renovation project that will result in private rooms for all adult patients in the hospital. On the outpatient side, it recently opened Entrada Contenta Health Center on the city’s Southside.
