MARTIN A. ORTIZ

JULY 25, 1964 - JANUARY 8, 2017

Martin was born on July 25, 1964 to Richard & Rosina Ortiz in Santa Fe, NM and married Carol Lopez on July 5, 1991. Martin and Carol lived in Phoenix for 20+ years where Martin went to school to become a master auto mechanic. Three years ago, Martin and Carol moved back to Santa Fe to help with our father’s care. Martin became the manager at AB1 Locksmith, and brought his great customer service skills and endless energy back to Santa Fe. He was our Energizer Bunny and kept on going and going. A loving husband, devoted father and grandfather, Martin loved riding the dunes in Glamis, CA and was always working on cars on the side.

Martin is survived by his wife, daughter Rita, son-in-law Sean Oser, grandson Erik, mother Rosina, siblings Lawrence, Lisa and Marc, along with many nieces and nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins. Martin is preceded in death by his grandparents Percy & Val Ortiz, and Ezequiel & Rita Gallegos, his mother-in-law Fay Harkleroad-Lopez and his father Richard E. Ortiz.

The funeral mass is Thursday, January 12 at 10am with a rosary at 9am at St. Francis Cathedral with burial to follow at Rosario Cemetery. Pallbearers are Sean Oser and Jerome Gutierrez.
