From The Santa Fe New Mexican:
Jan. 11, 1967: The Santa Fe County grand jury has brought impeachment proceedings against State Highway Commission chairman John Sudderth and Dr. John A. Thaxton, a member of the commission from Raton. The action was announced by Dist. Atty. Alfonso Sanchez. Gov. David F. Cargo also was informed of the jury’s action
“I’m going to discuss this matter with Atty. Gen. Boston Witt and discuss this very carefully. If these men are to be impeached, I want it to be done properly and make absolutely certain everything is handed properly out of fairness to them and to the state,” Cargo said.
… The grand jury’s presentment charges Sudderth with incompetence, neglect of duty or malfeasance in office.
Jan: 11, 1992: Former Santa Fe Mayor George Gonzales has filed a complaint with the state Human Rights Division accusing a local Pizza Hut restaurant of asking him for identification to prove his U.S. citizenship before being served. A manager at the Pizza Hut at 400 Cerrillos Road denied the charge, saying it is restaurant policy for servers to ask all customers for identification, but only to ensure they are legally old enough to consume alcoholic beverages. The legal drinking age is 21.
Gonzales, 54, who was mayor from 1968-72, said the waitress asked for the identification before he or his family ordered anything to drink.
