A story published on Page A-1 of the Wednesday, March 1, 2017, edition of The New Mexican, about legislation to require more consumer protection measures in residential solar energy system sales, incorrectly reported that the Solar Foundation had endorsed House Bill 199. While the president of the foundation recently told that consumer protections are needed, a spokesman said Wednesday that the foundation does not endorse specific legislation.

A story published on Page A-5 of the Wednesday, March 1, 2017, edition, about three appointments to Santa Fe County’s volunteer ethics board, incorrectly reported that the board had not presented to county commissioners proposed changes to the county code of conduct. The ethics board in September 2014 presented proposed changes to commissioners, but the commissioners didn’t act on them.

A story published on Page A-5 of the Wednesday, March 1, 2017, edition, about Santa Fe County working to expand water options in the Pojoaque basin, incorrectly reported that the federal court overseeing the long-running Aamodt case must sign off on rules surrounding well elections. The federal court does not need to approve the rules, which are developed by the State Engineer’s Office, said Sandra Ely, Santa Fe County’s Aamodt project manager. The story also reported that Santa Fe County will own and operate the regional water system. But Ely said the county and four Native American pueblos will own portions of the system, which the county will seek to operate as a contractor.
