Nat Geo WILD program showcases New Mexico
A digital series is bringing viewers a bloody — and beautiful — taste of New Mexico wildlife.
Nat Geo WILD, a sister network to National Geographic, on Tuesday released a new episode of Untamed with Filipe DeAndrade, in which the titular filmmaker raves over intensely close-up footage of Southern New Mexico raptors pursuing and tearing into small prey.
“If you’re a wildlife enthusiast, there are thousands of species that should make you flock here,” DeAndrade says of New Mexico in the video clip, which can be viewed at santafenewmexican.com.
The short episode highlights some of the state’s fearsome birds of prey, including bald eagles and Harris’s hawks.
An episode to be released April 4 will showcase mountain lions in the Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge near Socorro.
