Why not ?

I’ve been reading about the damage the Republicans have caused themselves in failing to repeal the Affordable Care Act. (They would have suffered more had they repealed it.) They could easily turn this loss around and win the support of Americans for the next 50 years. It’s simple. They just have to enact a law that makes Medicare available to all Americans.

That’s right — they just have to enact a universal health care law. Why not? Democrats have tried to do this for years and failed. Republicans can do it now and succeed. If only they had the brains and hearts to do this.

Should this happen, they would win elections for the next 50 years. Donald Trump, if he could learn not to tweet, might even get elected a second time. The cost to Americans would be much lower than what they now have, everyone would be covered, and we would have a government we might like.
