6 p.m. on TLC Return to Amish

Abe, Rebecca, Mary, Sabrina, Jeremiah and Carmela return as this hit reality series opens Season 4. Among the stories to expect in these new episodes, watch for Mary to throw herself headlong into “English” activities she previously resisted after an elder blocks her from attending her own funeral. Sabrina, pregnant with her second child, is in a renewed custody battle for daughter Oakley, while Rebecca’s decision to pursue her GED causes problems with Abe.

7 p.m. on HALL Good Witch

As a new season opens, Cassie (Catherine Bell, pictured) and her neighbors eagerly anticipate the blooming of the Middleton Merriwick, a rare plant whose blossoms — if they come — are said to predict a magical year for their town. When the plant gets damaged instead, the women of Middleton feel a dramatic impact in the season premiere “A Budding Romance.”

7 p.m. on HIST Superheroe­s Decoded

This two-part special, which concludes Monday, uses both vintage comic artwork and modern movie clips, along with archival footage and interviews to explore how superheroe­s have evolved into a part of American mythology. In Part 1, “American Legends,” such timeless old-school heroes as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and Spider-Man were able to change over the years to reflect shifts in American society and attitudes.

7 p.m. on STARZ American Gods

One of the most eagerly anticipate­d projects of the 2016-17 TV season, this new series adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s epic fantasy opens as prison inmate Shadow Moon (Ricky Whittle) is granted an early release after his wife (Emily Hampshire) dies in an accident. At loose ends, he’s hired to be the bodyguard of Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane), an ancient deity looking to unite the fading old gods to battle newer divinities such as Technical Boy (Bruce Langley), who are attracting more devotion from modern humans.

9 p.m. on ABC American Crime

“Season Three: Episode Eight” brings the series’ latest story to a close, as Kimara (Regina King) suggests that Dustin (guest star Kurt Krause) go to the police with what he knows, but things don’t turn out as anticipate­d. Clair and Nicholas (Lili Taylor, Timothy Hutton) come under investigat­ion — and eventually throw Gabrielle (guest star Mickaelle X. Bizet) under the bus.
