From The Santa Fe New Mexican: May 26, 1917: The fine portrait of Santiago Naranjo (the Wise Man of Santa Clara), finished this week by Julius Rolshoven, was today presented by Mr. Rolshoven to the School of American Research. The portrait of Santiago is on exhibit for a few days in the library. Even under unfavorabl­e light conditions, it impresses the visitor tremendous­ly.

May 26, 1967: Members of the now-permanent Legislativ­e School Study Committee met here today to continue its study of educationa­l programs in New Mexico. Chaired by Sen. Aubrey Dunn of Alamogordo, the Committee has set an objective of coordinati­on of the activities of other agencies with an eye toward future enabling legislatio­n.

May 26, 1992: More than a thousand people stood in a driving rain to honor the nation’s war dead at the Vietnam Veterans National Memorial in Angel Fire on Monday while several hundred gathered at the national cemetery in Santa Fe for Memorial Day observance­s.
