Make PNM pay
Call me crazy, but when I make a mistake, I tend to take the blame and pay for it. Wall Street has not favored coal for eons. Public Service Company of New Mexico’s leaders receive millions in pay, yet the company believes customers should bear the financial burden caused by the company’s incompetent choices (“PNM submits new rate hike proposal,” May 24).
Most perplexing is the Attorney General’s Office and the Sierra Club’s sign-off on an agreement with PNM for a smaller rate increase. We, the customers, should not be penalized for ignorant decisions made by this company. Adding to the insult is their pathetic plea that customers’ “energyefficiency measures,” have caused losses to their bottom line. Thanks to Mariel Nanasi, director of New Energy Economy, for her vigilance. Mary Thomas
