5 p.m. on ESPN MLB Baseball

What was expected to be a contested rivalry in the National League East between the Washington Nationals and New York Mets, who open up a weekend series in New York, has settled down mainly for two reasons. First, to go with one of baseball’s best pitching rotations, Bryce Harper and Ryan Zimmerman are putting up incredible offensive numbers. The Mets, conversely, have dropped back thanks to injuries to numerous players, including ace pitcher Noah Syndergaard.

8 p.m. on The CW Reign

A show about European royalty seemed like a big swing for a network largely weaned on dramas about the supernatural and superheroes, but this saga managed to have a healthy four-season run. That ends with the series finale, “All It Cost Her ... ,” in which Mary’s (Adelaide Kane) decision seals not only her own fate but that of her country. Elizabeth (Rachel Skarsten) girds herself for battle, literally, but realizes what she and Mary have in common.

11 p.m. on CMT Instant Jam

Brett Eldredge, pictured, partners with CMT in one of the channel’s pop-up concert series events, as the singer surprises fans with a free concert at The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. Eldredge performs his latest single, “Somethin’ I’m Good At,” as well as “Drunk on Your Love” and “Beat of the Music,” among other numbers. This program also provides a behind-the scenes look at the hours leading up to the impromptu show.
