7 p.m. on CBS MacGyver Mac and Jack (Lucas Till, George Eads) have the challenge of helping a “dead” woman in “Compass.” She’s actually a very alive, M.I.T. connected friend of Mac (guest star Aly Michalka, iZombie) who fakes her death to avoid meeting her maker — since someone wants to make sure her research doesn’t reach its completion. Of special note: The script is by Lee D, Zlotoff, the creator of the original MacGyver. Justin Hires and Meredith Eaton also star. 7 p.m. on CW Masters of Illusion Magic prevails for another summer as this showcase for prestidigi­tators starts its fourth season, with the amiable Dean Cain, pictured below, continuing as the series’ host. The first new installmen­t — “Crazy, Crazy Cards and Stilly Silhouette­s” — is likely to have its deck stacked, quite literally. 8 p.m. on The CW Riverdale New details about Jason’s death come out, prompting Archie (KJ Apa) to beg Miss Grundy (guest star Sarah Habel) to come forward with what they heard at Sweetwater River in “Chapter Two: A Touch of Evil.” Betty (Lili Reinhart) tries to mend fences with Archie. 9 p.m. on CBS Blue Bloods At Jamie and Eddie’s (Will Estes, Vanessa Ray) behest, Erin (Bridget Moynahan) gets involved in an adoption case that pits the birth parents and would-be adoptive parents against one another in “Genetics.” Frank (Tom Selleck) is concerned about alleged exam cheating by police cadets. 10 p.m. on PBS Andrea Bocelli — Landmarks Live in Concert: A Great Performanc­es Special “One of the great voices of our time” may sound like a cliche, but it’s true in the case of Bocelli, who renders the selections in this new episode at a notable site that holds to the series’ aim to match performer and place: the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, Italy.
