JAMES PATRICK CHAVEZ 1996 - 2017

James P. Chavez, 20, passed away on June 24, 2017 just shy of his 21st birthday. He was born June 27, 1996 to his loving parents, Josie Roybal, and James R. Chavez.

James is preceded in death by his father, James R. Chavez; grandmothe­rs,

Lorraine M. Roybal, and Maclovia Archuleta; grandfathe­rs, Amadeo Archuleta, Ramon Chavez, and Lawrence Lovato, Sr.; and his very special pet, Blue.

James is survived by his mom, Josie Roybal (and Josie’s partner, Lawrence Lovato); siblings, Brianna Chavez, Kayla Lovato, Santiego Chavez, Jade Chavez, and Khloe Chavez; grandfathe­rs, Rumaldo J. Roybal, and Pat R. Jimenez; godparents, Gabe and John Keller; girlfriend, Mari Smith; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

As a glass tech for ASAP Autoglass and Detailing, James was able to incorporat­e his love for cars into his daily life (as well as riding ATVs, and racing cars). He also loved working out and trained at Atrisco Boxing Club. His friends held a special place in his heart and he loved hanging out with them.

A visitation and rosary will be held for James at Berardinel­li Funeral Home on Thursday, July 6, 2017 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at the Cathedral Basilica of St Francis of Assisi on Friday, July 7, 2017 at 10:00 am followed by interment at the Santa Fe Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearer­s will be Enrique Roybal, Diego Bachicha, Derrick Quintana, Adrian Montoya Jr., Angelo Archuleta, Ricky Archuleta, and Christophe­r Martinez. Honorary Pallbearer­s will be Ashly Reed, Renee Montoya, Amanda Montoya, Angelica Roybal, Holly Ortiz, Loren Bachicha, Raquel Archuleta, Kirsten Martinez, Andres Torres, Mario Torres, Adrian Cortes, Armando Jimenez, and Charlie Jimenez.
