The new “Detroit: Motor City to Chow Town” finds host Josh Denny in the titular Michigan metropolis, where he heads to Stache International, home of the Big Dawg: three pounds of house-smoked bologna in a two-foot long bun, topped with cheese, caramelized onions and bacon. Also on his culinary itinerary: The Punisher at Garrido’s Bistro and Pastry, a hubcap-sized arepa stuffed with 15 pounds of pulled beef, chicken, avocado, plantains and cheese.
2 7 p.m. on The CW Masters of Illusion
Some discomfort is a distinct possibility in the new episode “Manipulation, Transformation and Two Impalers,” and one only can hope that the assistants to the last two participants know what they’re getting into ... or onto. Barry and Stuart, Eric Jones, Murray SawChuck, Jonathan Pendragon, Chris Randall and Neil Croswell are the showcased illusionists. Dean Cain continues as host. Another new episode follows.

Host Guy Fieri pursues a whirlwind of flavors in the new “Sandwiches, Spaetzle and Sticky Wings,” which takes him to Norfolk, Va., where a two-for-one spot finds a butcher stacks sandwiches by day before a chef fires up ramen and sticky wings after nightfall.

Currently co-starring as acerbic comedy club host Ralph on Showtime’s acclaimed new drama I’m
Dying Up Here, Erik Griffin, pictured, previously played Montez on Workaholics and had a recurring role on the Starz comedy Blunt Talk. He first cut his professional teeth as a stand-up comic, though, and in his first one-hour special, Griffin keeps his audience in stitches with his sharp observations on topics ranging from modern romance to pop culture.
5 10 p.m. on PBS Billy Joel: The Library of Congress Gershwin Prize
The “Piano Man” becomes a recipient of the prestigious honor in this special, taped in November 2014 in Washington, D.C. Tony Bennett, Boyz II Men, LeAnn Rimes, Gavin DeGraw and host Kevin Spacey are among those saluting Joel on his singing and songwriting achievements in popular music. Barbra Streisand, Paul McCartney and James Taylor are seen in tributes they recorded for Joel.
