Survey says: Reasons Amy Schumer might have played ‘Feud’

- BY JAY BOBBIN

Q: I was surprised to see Amy Schumer on “Celebrity Family Feud.” since she has movies and so many other things going on, why would she do a game show now? – Tom Edwards, via e-mail

A: You’d have to ask her for her specific reasoning, but there can be several appeals. All of the teams on the ABC show are playing for charities they support, so there’s the lure of winning money for their causes; they have to engage in teamwork with loved ones, so there’s that; and some people just like to play games, in the literal sense. “This Is Us” co-star Chrissy Metz also was on that “Celebrity Family Feud” episode, and she’s done an episode of NBC’s “Hollywood Game Night” for this summer as well, so there’s an example of a clear game lover. Also, in Schumer’s case, her appearance was a way of promoting her movie “Snatched” (which still was in wide release at the time). Q: I heard that Kirsten Dunst got engaged to one of her “Fargo” co-stars. Is that true? – Beth Shaw, Warren, Ohio

A: It is. She and “Friday Night Lights” alum Jesse Plemons apparently enjoyed playing spouses in Season 2 of the FX series so much, they’re planning to replicate it. (Minus a few details that pertained to their characters, like homicide.) Dunst recently told Jimmy Fallon in a “Tonight Show” appearance that she and Plemons began dating a year after they worked together on “Fargo.” And she added that when he proposed, “I was a little sick ... which was funny.” Far be it from us to dispute that timing is everything.
