On May 13, Eastern New Mexico University in Portales graduated the following area students with honors: From Española: Sunnye Marianito. From Los Alamos: Amanda Bonn, Jacqueline Fernandes, Ian Forsyth, Joann Gentry, Julia Montoya, Kendall Schneider and Kiana Zerr.

From Santa Fe: Lindsay Bost , Andrea Brown, Candice Herrera, Julie Doolittle, Yandall Goodwin, Candice Herrera, Miquaela Jaramillo, Luis Lozoya-Rodriguez, Julie Maze, Kariann Ortega and Joseph Rich.

From Taos: Mariaelena Martinez.

Vincent S. Vigil of Santa Fe graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in automotive industry management from Colorado State University Pueblo at a commenceme­nt ceremony May 6. Vincent is employed by Advantage Technical Resources in Detroit as a service engineer for Ford Motor Co. Vincent is the son of Kathleen and Steven Vigil of Santa Fe.

Arun Jose of Santa Fe has earned a Master of Science in computer science from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.

Rae Arnett of Santa Fe was recently initiated into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Arnett was initiated at Eastern New Mexico University.

Tristan Goodwin of Los Alamos was named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester at Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa.

On May 12, Christophe­r Redding received his Doctor of Philosophy in educationa­l policy from Vanderbilt University in Nashville. Chris has accepted a teaching and research position at the University of Florida in Gainsville starting in August. He is a graduate of St. Michael’s High School and is the son of Lois and Bud Redding of Santa Fe.

Santa Fe Community College has announced that Wyetta Bradley and Frances Jessop were awarded veterans scholarshi­ps. The scholarshi­p fund for veterans and their dependents was establishe­d through a partnershi­p among Santa Fe Community College Foundation, the city of Santa Fe Veterans Advisory Board and U.S. Bank.

Jessop was “a Navy brat” who moved numerous times throughout her childhood. Her father served for 23 years with the U.S. Navy, including service during the Vietnam War. Her scholarshi­p is helping her earn a certificat­e in greenhouse management.

Bradley, a fourth-generation New Mexican, served in the U.S. Army during the Operation Desert Storm era while based at Fort Sam Houston. Bradley has spent years working in a variety jobs in the medical profession in hospitals, home health care, nursing homes and clinics. Bradley also has worked as an actress. She plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She is working on her prerequisi­tes for the nursing program. The single mother said she had to put her educationa­l dreams on hold while parenting and earning a living.

Emily Adams, a biology and premedical illustrati­on major from Los Alamos, was named to the spring 2017 Dean’s List in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Iowa State University in Ames.

Clarissa A. Alvarez of Santa Fe was named to the State University of New York Canton Dean’s List during the spring 2017 semester. Alvarez is a SUNY Canton legal studies major.

Madeline Weider of Santa Fe, daughter of Wolfgang Weider and Amy House-Weider, has enrolled for the 2017-18 academic year at Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, N.Y. Madeline is in the game design and developmen­t program in RIT’s B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Informatio­n Sciences. Madeline is a 2017 graduate of The MASTERS Program. She received an RIT Presidenti­al Scholarshi­p and an RIT Grant.

On May 19, Eliza Evans of Santa Fe graduated from Purchase College in Purchase, N.Y., with a Master of Fine Arts in visual arts.

Roxanne Grieggs of Los Alamos was named to spring 2017 Dean’s List at the University at Albany in Albany, N.Y.

On May 12, 2017, Alexander Malyzhenko­v of Santa Fe graduated from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Ill., with a master’s degree in physics.
