EDDIE DAYAN 1943 - 2017

Eddie Dayan sadly died of heart failure on Sunday 9 July 2017. He was 74 years old. He was born in Cairo in 1943 and grew up in Egypt, France, England, Zimbabwe, and South Africa. He achieved a highly successful business career in both marketing and retailing in both South Africa and Great Britain. After retiring he and his wife, Elaine, move to Santa Fe where his lifelong passion for photography developed into a second career, exploring and honing digital photography as his primary medium. He developed a considerable body of work which has been collected by museums and exhibited in leading galleries in Santa Fe, London, and New York.

Eddie will be sorely missed by his friends and family who witnessed his 34 year-long battle with Parkinson’s disease. His courage, determination, and humor in the face of this debilitating condition were awe inspiring.

Eddie leaves behind his devoted wife of 44 years, Elaine; his cousin, Samy Cohen, and wife Nonna Mayer of Paris; and many caring friends in the US, the UK, and South Africa. Rest in peace, Eddie. We love you.
