Mariah Carey makes a guest appearance in this new episode, and her presence and powerhouse voice just might be enough to rattle contestant­s who are vying to win $1 million. Jamie Foxx, pictured, is the host.

8 p.m. on CW Hooten & the Lady

Already shown in England, where it originated, this adventure series teams Michael Landes and Ophelia Lovibond (Elementary )as partners in solving mysteries around the world. The opening episode, “The Amazon,” introduces them to each other in that locale as they seek the lost camp of Victorian-era explorer Percy Fawcett. Jane Seymour has a recurring role as Lady Alex Lindo-Parker’s (Lovibond) mother.

8:01 p.m. on A&E Akil the Fugitive Hunter

This unusual new docuseries combines liveaction and animation as it follows Akil Muhammad while he tracks and captures elusive criminals in Los Angeles. Actor Wood Harris (The Wire) narrates the show.

9 p.m. on NBC The Night Shift

A wounded military veteran gives Jordan and Cain (Jill Flint, recurring guest star Mark Consuelos) an extra challenge by rejecting the diagnosis they present to him in the new episode “Control.” Drew (Brendan Fehr) becomes overwhelme­d in trying to balance work and parenthood. Scott (Scott Wolf) seeks redemption by helping a patient who has traveled far.

9 p.m. on CBS Zoo

Though the firm Reiden Global is the enemy in many ways, Abraham and Daniela (Nonso Anozie, Alyssa Diaz) have their reasons for thinking about striking an accord with the company in the new episode “Ten Years Gone.” Jamie and Clementine (Kristen Connolly, Gracie Dzienny) have to attempt a surgical procedure that has anything but a guaranteed outcome. James Wolk, Billy Burke and Josh Salatin also star.
