$1K micro-grant available from Awesome Foundation
The Santa Fe chapter of the Awesome Foundation is accepting applications for a $1,000 micro-grant that will be awarded to invest in a local project that aims to make Santa Fe a better place to live, work and play. Applications are due by Aug. 4, with the grant to be awarded in September.
The foundation funds local projects in science, technology, art, education, entertainment or social good. Projects should demonstrate a clear community benefit with immediate impact by helping other people or creating a better environment for them.
The grant application is open to individuals and groups with no prerequisites. Applications can be submitted online at the chapter’s website, www. awesomefoundation.org/en/chapters/santafe, and should include a proposed budget and timeline.
The chapter recently awarded its 11th community grant to the Santa Fe Parkinson’s Action Group to provide the seed money for the recently established Parkinson’s Action Fund. This fund will provide scholarships to those in Santa Fe who would like to attend the group’s Parkinson’s specific exercise classes but need financial assistance to do so. These classes include Rock Steady Boxing Santa Fe, NIA Moving to Heal and Parkinson’s Wellness Recovery.
