-

A Santa Fe man has been arrested on his second charge of DWI after police found him driving without a license and discovered two open 40-ounce bottles of beer in the back of his car, according to a criminal complaint filed Friday in the Santa Fe County Magistrate Court.

Adolfo Garcia, 23, was pulled over by a Santa Fe police officer Thursday evening on Airport Road for having a burned-out headlight, the complaint says.

Garcia told the officer that he had a license restricting him to drive a vehicle with an ignition interlock installed, but that he didn’t have the license with him, the officer wrote in the complaint.

A Breathalyzer test showed Garcia had a blood-alcohol content of 0.10 percent, above the legal limit of 0.08 percent.

The officer said he also found small amounts of cocaine and marijuana inside the vehicle, which was impounded.

Garcia was booked in the Santa Fe County jail and charged with a fourth-degree felony of possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor count of DWI and a misdemeanor count of driving with a revoked license.

He also faces five petty misdemeanor charges of having an open container, driving an unsafe vehicle, improper display of license plate, no proof of insurance and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
