7 p.m. on FOX MasterChef
Shaun O’Neale, who won Season 7 of this contest, is back in the kitchen in the new episode “The Masterchef Returns.” This time, though, he doesn’t have to do the meal preparation: He leaves that to this season’s remaining finalists, who use ingredients featured in his new cookbook. The winner of that round then gets to sit out as the others utilize coconuts in another challenge.

Mike (Patrick J. Adams) has his hands full balancing his obligations at the office with his promise to help a family in severe economic distress in the new episode “Brooklyn Burning.” Elsewhere, Donna (Sarah Rafferty) checks out the background on a prospective new addition to the firm, while Harvey (Gabriel Macht) begs Louis (Rick Hoffman) to use discretion in a situation that requires a delicate touch.

Lately, television has presented its share of specials related to the 20th anniversary of the death of Princess Diana — and though ABC offered one of those programs, it goes back to the subject with this new twopart documentary concluding Thursday. Produced in association with
People magazine, it offers a bounty of archival footage, as well as new interviews with Diana’s brother Charles, 9th Earl Spencer, pictured, and others who were in her inner circle.

Faced with insufficient evidence, a frustrated Hardy (David Tennant) is forced to release Ed (Lenny Henry), but now the focus of the investigation shifts to Jim (Mark Bazeley), given his connection to one of the victims. Meanwhile, Maggie (Carolyn Pickles) takes a stand against her greedy new boss and refuses to exploit Mark’s despair.

The “Three-Year Anniversary” of Jerrod and Maxine (Jerrod Carmichael, Amber Stevens West) as a couple is marked in this new episode, and their particular way of celebrating it concerns other members of the Carmichael family.
