Northwest

ABIQUIÚ LAKE: Fishing was fair to good using crank baits, tubes, salt craws, curly tail grubs, crawdad imitation flies and night crawlers for smallmouth bass. Fishing for walleye was very good using spinner and night crawler combinatio­ns, crank baits and spinners. BLUEWATER LAKE: Fishing for tiger muskies was slow with just a few caught by anglers using hot dogs, swim baits and Rapala X-Raps. BRAZOS RIVER: Fishing was good using copper John Barrs, elk hair caddis, Fire Balls and worms for trout. CHAMA RIVER: Monday morning water flows below El Vado and Abiquiú were 153 cfs and 227 cfs respective­ly. Fishing above and below El Vado was good using small midge patterns, wooly buggers, terrestria­ls, night crawlers, Fire Balls and PowerBait for brown and rainbow trout. COCHITI LAKE: Fishing was good using corn dry flies for carp. Fishing was slow to fair using crank baits, tubes, top water lures and jerk baits for smallmouth bass and largemouth bass. Fishing was fair using shrimp, chicken liver and homemade dough bait for catfish. EL VADO LAKE: Fishing was good using Mepps spinners, crank baits, tubes, grubs and worms for smallmouth bass. Fishing was fair using spinners, worms, PowerBait and terrestria­ls for brown and rainbow trout. HERON LAKE: Bank fishing was good using garlic PowerBait and salmon eggs for trout. The best reports came from anglers fishing the early morning hours. JEMEZ WATERS: Stream flow on the Jemez River near Jemez Springs on Monday morning was 19.8 cfs. Trout fishing on the Jemez was slow. Fishing on the upper Cebolla was fair using small dry flies, copper John Barrs and Fire Balls for trout. LAGUNA DEL CAMPO: Fishing was fair to good using Pistol Petes under a bubble, worms and PowerBait for trout. MANZANO LAKE: Fishing was slow to fair using PowerBait for trout. Fishing pressure was light. NAVAJO LAKE: Fishing was good using finesse worms, tubes, curly tail grubs, crawdad flies, crank baits and chatter baits for smallmouth bass and largemouth bass up to 4.5 pounds. Fishing was good using swim baits, chatter baits and crank baits for northern pike. Fishing for kokanee salmon was slow. A few rainbow trout were caught by anglers using Panther Martin spinners and PowerBait. SAN JUAN RIVER: Trout fishing through the Quality Waters was good using dead chickens, RS2s, crystal flash emergers, chocolate foam wing emergers, little princesses, small bead-head pheasant tail nymphs, parachute Adams and San Juan worms. Through the bait waters, trout fishing was good using San Juan worms, copper John Barrs, salmon eggs, PowerBait, Fire Balls, Panther Martin spinners and Yozuri pins minnows. SEVEN SPRINGS BROOD POND: Fishing was good using PowerBait, salmon eggs, Zeke’s trout bait, worms and Pistol Petes for trout. TINGLEY BEACH: Fishing for catfish was slow again this past week with just a few caught by anglers using homemade baits and shrimp. TROUT LAKES: Fishing was slow to fair using spinners, PowerBait and salmon eggs for trout.

Northeast

CLAYTON LAKE: Fishing was fair to good using chicken liver and worms for catfish. Fishing was fair to good using PowerBait, salmon eggs and worms for trout. CIMARRON RIVER: Fishing at the Gravel Pit Lakes was good using salmon eggs, PowerBait and Pistol Petes. CONCHAS LAKE: Fishing was fair to good using tubes, Pop Rs, jerk baits, crank baits and senkos for largemouth bass and smallmouth bass. Night fishing was good using shrimp, cut bait and liver for catfish. Fishing was slow to fair using crank baits, minnows and jig and night crawler rigs for walleye. COWLES PONDS: Fishing was good using PowerBait, worms and salmon eggs for trout. EAGLE ROCK LAKE: Fishing was good using PowerBait, Fire Balls, Silver Label Fire Bait, worms, Pistol Petes, Rooster Tails and Super Dupers for trout. EAGLE NEST LAKE: Trout fishing was slow to fair using PowerBait, worms, Panther Martins and Platte River specials. Fishing was very good using worms for perch. GALLINAS RIVER: Fishing was good using worms, salmon eggs, prince nymphs and egg patterns for trout. LAKE ALICE: Trout fishing was slow. LAKE MALOYA: Fishing was good using Pistol Petes, parachute Adams, elk hair caddis, PowerBait and Fire Balls for trout. Fishing was good using worms for perch. MONASTERY LAKE: Fishing was good using small Kastmaster­s, Pistol Petes, worms and PowerBait for trout. MORPHY LAKE: Trout fishing was slow to fair using worms and PowerBait for trout. PECOS RIVER: Fishing was good using Fire Balls, PowerBait, worms, San Juan worms, stone flies, prince nymphs and Panther Martins for trout. RED RIVER: Fishing was very good using salmon eggs, worms, stone flies, midge imitations for trout. RIO GRANDE: Stream flow on Monday at the Taos Junction Bridge was 411 cfs. Fishing was good using elk hair caddis, bead-head wooly buggers, poundmeist­ers, copper John Barrs, Panther Martin spinners, Mepps spinners and night crawlers. Fishing was fair using streamers, spoons and spinners for smallmouth bass. RIO HONDO: Fishing was good using parachute Adams, salmon eggs and worms for trout. RIO MORA: As of Monday, stream flow near Terrero was 22.6 cfs. Fishing was fair to good using worms and salmon eggs for trout. STORRIE LAKE: Fishing was fair using PowerBait, worms and Fire Balls for trout. UTE LAKE: Fishing was very good using liver, cut bait and prepared baits for catfish. Fishing was fair to good using jigging spoons for white bass.

Southwest

ALUMNI POND: Fishing was slow to fair using worms and liver for catfish. CABALLO LAKE: Fishing was slow to fair using spoons, sassy shad, curly tail grubs and spinners for white bass. Fishing was good using cut bait, night crawlers and chicken liver for catfish. ELEPHANT BUTTE LAKE: Fishing was slow to fair using crank baits, Pop Rs, tubes, senkos and creature baits for largemouth bass and smallmouth bass. Fishing for crappie was slow with just a few caught by anglers using minnows and small leech patterns. Night fishing was good using cut bait, minnows, shrimp and chicken liver over baited holes for catfish. GLENWOOD POND: Fishing was good using PowerBait and Fire Balls for trout. LAKE ROBERTS: Fishing was slow to fair using crank baits, creature baits, tubes and finesse worms for largemouth bass. Fishing for catfish was fair using shrimp and chicken liver. PERCHA DAM: Fishing was fair to good using minnows and curly tail grubs for white bass. Fishing was fair to good using chicken liver, shrimp and cut bait. RIO GRANDE: Fishing below Elephant Butte and Caballo and at the Mesilla Valley Dam was fair using night crawlers, chicken liver and cut bait for catfish. Most of the reports this week were of small catfish. Fishing was fair using grubs, spoons and minnows for white bass.

Southeast

BLACK RIVER: Fishing was slow with just a few catfish caught by anglers using beef liver and shrimp. BOSQUE REDONDO LAKE: Fishing was slow to fair using chicken liver and shrimp for catfish. BRANTLEY LAKE: Anglers are required to catch and release all fish here as high levels of pesticides have been found in some fish. Fishing was fair to good using top water lures, crank baits, tubes, 4 inch and 6-inch plastic worms, senkos and jigs for largemouth bass and white bass. CHAPARRAL PARK LAKE: Fishing was slow to fair using liver for catfish. EL RITO CREEK: Fishing was fair using olive Pistol Petes, worms and PowerBait for trout. GREENE ACRES LAKE: Fishing was slow to fair using chicken liver, hot dogs and homemade dough bait for catfish. GRINDSTONE RESERVOIR: Fishing was fair using Pistol Petes, PowerBait and Fire Balls for trout. LAKE VAN: Fishing was slow to fair using shrimp, Charlie’s catfish bait and chicken liver for catfish. The best reports came from anglers fishing early in the day. PERCH LAKE: Fishing was slow to fair using liver and homemade dough bait for catfish. SANTA ROSA LAKE: Fishing was fair using crank baits, creature baits, senkos, finesse worms, curly tail grubs, top water lures and tubes for largemouth bass.
