1 p.m. on NFL NFL Preseason Football

Two teams with improved offenses meet up when Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers visit Marcus Mariota and Tennessee Titans. The Panthers, who fell off last season after a Super Bowl run in 2015, drafted well, taking all-purpose running back Christian McCaffrey from Stanford in the first round and Ohio State wide receiver Curtis Samuel in the second. The Titans also gave Mariota some help, taking Western Michigan wideout Corey Davis with their first draft pick.

5 p.m. on OXY The Disappeara­nce of Natalee Holloway

It’s been 12 years since 18-year-old Natalee Holloway vanished during a vacation trip to Aruba, but her father, David Holloway, says he recently received a credible lead in the case. This new truecrime series follows the senior Holloway as he and T.J. Ward, his longtime private investigat­or, try to pick up a trail they hope will lead them to hard evidence against their prime suspect: Dutch playboy Joran van der Sloot.

6 p.m. on STARZ Movie: Underworld: Blood Wars

Ostracized by most of the vampires and the Lycans, death dealer Selene (Kate Beckinsale) teams up with two of her few remaining allies on a quest to stop once and for all this endless cycle of violence between the two factions in this fifth installmen­t of the action-horror franchise. Theo James, Lara Pulver, Tobias Menzies and Bradley James also star in the 2016 film, which marked the directoria­l debut of Anna Foerster.

7 p.m. on AMC Halt and Catch Fire

The critically acclaimed, if underwatch­ed, period drama starts its fourth and final season with a two-hour episode that finds main characters Joe, Cameron, Donna and Gordon (Lee Pace, pictured, Mackenzie Davis, Kerry Bishe and Scoot McNairy) pondering their shifting personal and profession­al relationsh­ips while navigating the early days of the World Wide Web. Anna Chlumsky (Veep) joins the cast this year, too.

8 p.m. on CBS Princess Diana: Her Life — Her Death — The Truth

As the 20th anniversar­y of the Paris car-accident death of “The People’s Princess” nears, this special examines her legacy as well as the factors in the tragedy that took her life. Gayle King anchors the two-hour program, which includes interviews with associates of Diana, Princess of Wales as it details what happened in a French tunnel on the night of Aug. 31, 1997. The traditions that Princes William and Harry have carried forward also are considered.
