No. 1 Alabama handles Colorado St., 41-23

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Jalen Hurts and Alabama scored in a hurry, then did it again — and again.

The top-ranked Crimson Tide raced to a lead Saturday night, lost a chunk of it, then outlasted Colorado State 41-23 Saturday night.

Hurts passed for 248 yards and two long touchdowns and rushed for 103 yards for the Tide (3-0) in his best all-around game of the season.

NO. 7 MICHIGAN 27 AIR FORCE 3

in Ann Arbor, Mich., Donovan Peoples-Jones returned a punt 79 yards for a score and Quinn Nordin tied a school record with five field goals, helping No. 7 Michigan overcome its offensive struggles in a 29-13 win over Air Force on Saturday.

WAKE FOREST 46, UTAH STATE 10

In Winston-Salem, N.C., senior quarterbac­k John Wolford threw for 242 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another score as unbeaten Wake Forest defeated Utah State.

Arkeem Byrd had 120 yards rushing including a 59-yard TD scamper and Tabari Hines had a career-high 129 yards receiving for the Demon Deacons, who opened the season 3-0 for the second straight year. It’s the first time in six years Wake Forest has had a 100-yard rusher and receiver in the same game.

IDAHO STATE, 30, NEVADA 30-28

In Reno, Nev., Matt Peterson fell on top of an onside kick with less than a minute to play, preserving Idaho State’s 30-28 victory, its first over an FBS opponent since 2000, and foiling a Nevada comeback Saturday night.

OREGON 49, WYOMING 13

In Laramie, Wyo., Royce Freeman ran for three touchdowns in the first half and Oregon roughed up Wyoming quarterbac­k Josh Allen in a 49-13 victory over the Cowboys on Saturday night.

SUN BELT TROY 27, NEW MEXICO STATE 24

In Las Cruces, Brandon Silvers threw for 286 yards and one touchdown and rushed for another score as Troy held off a late New Mexico State charge for a 27-24 Sun Belt Conference win on Saturday night.
