COMMUNITY DAY AT THE CHILREN’S MUSEUM: The Santa Fe Children’s Museum, 1050 Old Pecos Trail, will host a celebratio­n of children from noon to 4 p.m., with free admission to the museum and family activities, including a portable planetariu­m, performanc­es by local youth groups, hands on activities, face painting, music and more. Food trucks will be on-site to offer lunch and snacks. HARVEST FESTIVAL: Autumn is a vibrant time to visit El Rancho de las Golondrina­s, 334 Los Pinos Road in La Cienega, a historic ranch and living history museum. The Harvest Festival offers a host of activities, demonstrat­ions, vendors and performanc­es. Taste syrup from a burro-driven sorghum mill, help make cider by cranking a traditiona­l apple press and pick a pumpkin from a scarecrow-guarded patch. Children can stomp grapes by foot, make cornhusk dolls or roll their own delicious tortilla by hand. Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and teens and free for kids 12 and under.
