7:30 p.m. on CBS 9JKL

Mark Feuerstein’s character on the recent Prison Break revival was anything but amusing, so he, above, probably can use some laughs. The Royal Pains alum gets them from his own life in this new sitcom, based on his experiences in New York as both a struggling actor and a struggling relative. The latter situation comes from his living between his parents (Linda Lavin, Elliott Gould) and his brother (David Walton) ... ensuring that he’s never without family around.

8 p.m. on FOX The Gifted

Fox moves into Marvel territory with this premiere of an X-Men-related drama about a family whose children (Natalie Alyn Lind, Percy Hynes White) have mutant powers, not unlike such well-known characters as Wolverine and Storm. With unfriendly government officials on their heels, the parents (Stephen Moyer, Amy Acker) take their offspring on the run and ask other mutants for help. Coby Bell, Emma Dumont and Blair Redford also star in “eXposed.”

9 p.m. on NBC The Brave

A CIA agent (guest star Stacey Farber) who’s targeted by a rebel faction in Russia is the object of the team’s mission in the new episode “Moscow Rules.” As Patricia (Anne Heche) tries to determine the reason for the situation, Noah (Tate Ellington) discloses his surprising tie to it. Colin Salmon (Die Another Day) guest stars. Mike Vogel, Demetrius Grosse, Sofia Pernas and Noah Mills also star.

9 p.m. on ABC The Good Doctor

The first day of work at the hospital proves memorable for Shaun (Freddie Highmore) — but possibly not for the right reasons — in the new episode “Mount Rushmore,”’ written by series co-creator David Shore (House).
