S.F. publisher’s titles up for honors
Santa Fe book publisher Terra Nova Books has announced that eight of its publications are finalists in the 2017 New Mexico/Arizona Book Awards competition. The winners will be announced at a Nov. 17 awards banquet to be held at Tanoan Country Club. The competition is sponsored by the New Mexico Book Co-op (nmbookcoop. com), a nonprofit organization serving authors and publishers. Terra Nova finalists are:
Rebecca Pott Fitton, Wave Rider: Poetic Journey from Abuse to Wholeness in the category of best cover design, nonfiction.
Jaenet Guggenheim, The Fussy Little Butterfly, for children’s picture book and other categories including animals and parenting.
Francie Healey, Eat to Beat Alzheimer’s: Delicious Recipes and New Research to Prevent and Slow Dementia, for health book.
Richard A. Light, Jewish Rites of Death: Stories of Beauty and Transformation, for religious book.
Shirley Melis, Banged-up Heart: Dancing with Love and Loss, for a first book.
Donald Willerton, Ghosts of the San Juan: The Lost Children for juvenile book.
Terra Nova Books (www.TerraNovaBooks.com) is an independent publisher based in Santa Fe that is now in its sixth year of operation. Its titles are distributed nationally to bookstores by SCB Distributors of Gardena, Calif.
