5 p.m. on NICK Movie: Escape From Mr. Lemoncello's Library After spending 111 weeks on the New York Times middle-grade best seller list, Chris Grabenstei­n's award-winning children's novel gets an engaging TV movie adaptation directed by Scott McAboy. The story follows a group of sixth-graders invited by the brilliant game designer Luigi Lemoncello (Russell Roberts) to spend an evening in his high-tech, maze-like library, from which they are challenged to find an escape route. Their mission is complicate­d by fantasy characters who step out of their books and roam the stacks.

7 p.m. on FOX Lucifer Lucifer (Tom Ellis) decides to take off his wings and go rogue again in the new episode “The One With the Baby Carrot,” prompting Linda’s (Rachael Harris) worries about his guarding of his own safety as he pursues the Sinnerman. Chloe (Lauren German) also is having problems with Lucifer, but business takes precedence when they make a big discovery about Detective Pierce (Tom Welling).

7:30 p.m. on CBS 9JKL A one-night stand turns into something potentiall­y more lasting for Josh (Mark Feuerstein), who doesn’t necessaril­y want that, in the new episode “Relationsh­ip Guy.” The woman in question (guest star Mouzam Makkar) connects with his parents (Linda Lavin, Elliott Gould) and starts what could be an enduring friendship.

8 p.m. on The CW Valor The CW certainly has its share of superheroe­s, but the premiere of this military drama revolves around heroes of a more down-to-earth nature. They’re U.S. Army helicopter pilots whose mission to Somalia went tragically wrong, with the only two returnees (Christina Ochoa, above, Matt Barr) keeping certain details quiet. When they learn that one of their comrades (W. Tre Davis) is still alive and being held by terrorists, they start training to go back in this “Pilot.”

9: p.m. on ABC The Good Doctor A patient’s hesitancy to come forth with full informatio­n puts the surgery that could save his life at risk in the new episode “Oliver.” Dr. Melendez (Nicholas Gonzalez) is among the medics perplexed by the situation. Communicat­ion between Shaun and Claire (Freddie Highmore, Antonia Thomas) is essential, but difficult, as they try to get an organ back to the hospital in time for it to be used effectivel­y.
