7 p.m. on FOX Gotham

Unwittingly, Bruce (David Mazouz) endangers the lives of a museum historian and his grandson (guest stars Dakin Matthews and Benjamin Stockham) as he tries to learn the significance of a special knife in the new episode “A Dark Knight: The Demon’s Head.” Ra’s Al Ghul (Alexander Siddig) makes a potentially lethal move. Sofia Falcone (Crystal Reed) challenges Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) for control of the city. Donal Logue and Morena Baccarin also star.

7 p.m. on CW Supernatural

The number 13 may play into superstition, but it’s ironically lucky for this series. That season begins with “Lost and Found,” which finds Winchester brothers Sam and Dean (Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, picture) in a particularly tough place. Their mother, Crowley and Castiel are all gone — and the siblings can’t agree on what to do about newborn Jack. Mary (Samantha Smith) rightfully has big concerns about her survival.

8 p.m. on ABC Scandal

Often the director as well as a star of this series, Tony Goldwyn fills those dual jobs again with the new episode “Pressing the Flesh,” as Mellie (Bellamy Young) tries to broker a peace deal between Middle Eastern countries at a state dinner. Jake (Scott Foley) goes to work behind the scenes, at Olivia’s (Kerry Washington) behest, to ensure that there’s a “Plan B.”

8:30 p.m. on NBC Great News

Particularly after the new episode “Honeypot!,” no one will be able to say this sitcom doesn’t deal with actual newsroom situations. Diana (guest star Tina Fey) gets enmeshed in a sexual-harassment scandal just before she’s due to leave for a higher ranking job. Katie (Briga Heelan) is torn over whose claims to believe. Carol (Andrea Martin) feels compelled to prove herself after being named head intern.

9 p.m. on BET The Rundown With Robin Thede

Chris Rock is among the executive producers of this promising new weekly mix of news and satire, hosted by Robin Thede, who previously was head writer on the critically acclaimed but shortlived Comedy Central series The Nightly Show With Larry Wilmore. Each episode is expected to offer Thede’s barbed takes on that week’s headlines, along with sketch comedy, pop culture parodies and other social commentary.
