WorthmanAt the Air ran Forcefor five Academy, touchdowns, quarterbac­k including Arion a 1-yard plunge with 2:14 remaining and Air Force rallied from a 27-point deficit to beat UNLV. The go-ahead 80-yard drive was preceded by a wild sequence in which UNLV quarterbac­k Armani Rogers fumbled at the end of a run and the ball squirted forward some 20 yards with at least two Rebels players missing a chance to grab it before Falcons linebacker Shaquille Vereen fell on it in the end zone for a touchback. It was the second largest comeback by Air Force (2-4, 1-2 Mountain West Conference), which overcame a 28-point deficit in a 44-38 overtime victory over Fresno State in 1996. Worthman finished with 166 yards rushing with TD runs of 14, 1, 5 and 6 before diving in for the game-winner. Rogers was 12-of-27 passing for 145 yards and ran 16 times for 148 yards and a touchdown.

WYOMING 28, UTAH STATE 23

In Logan, Utah, Josh Allen passed for 208 yards and a touchdown, and Wyoming scored the final 12 points and took advantage of Utah State’s five turnovers. The Cowboys (4-2, 2-0 Mountain West) led 26-23 on Allen’s 28-yard pass to C.J. Johnson with 3:45 left. The Aggies (3-4, 1-2) reached midfield on the next possession before LaJuan Hunt fumbled and Cassh Maluia recovered for Wyoming. Utah State forced a punt and the Cowboys’ Austin Conway pinned the Aggies at the 7. Carl Granderson sacked Kent Myers for a safety with 37 seconds left and Wyoming recovered the onside kick to secure the win. Utah State had a 23-14 edge in first downs and outgained Wyoming 363-293 but couldn’t overcome three intercepti­ons and two lost fumbles. James Price had four catches for 72 yards for the Cowboys. Hunt ran 18 times for 73 yards for the Aggies.
