Johnston 100th

Jean B. Johnston, a resident of The Montecito in Santa Fe, is preparing to celebrate her 100th birthday Thursday. She was born in Denver on Oct. 26, 1917. Her father worked on the railroad. Her mother, of Irish descent, was one of nine children and worked full time in a dairy.

Jean has four children, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The love of her life was her husband, Milo Stewart, who died when he was 50 years old.

She moved to Albuquerque in the 1950s and to Santa Fe in 1977, living here the last 40 years.

Jean and Milo lived in Cañoncito most of those years. They had two horses and four miniature horses who all pulled buggies, carriages and a chariot. Jean has always dearly loved animals of all kinds. She would take her dog for walk in the canyon and pick up dogs at every house along the path, ending up with a pack of very happy dogs.

Jean loves dance and was a member of the Scarlet Ladies Santa Fe until she was 83 years old, needing to stop dancing due to pain in her knees.

Jean truly loves people and they love her.

Blagg 90th

On Oct. 4, Santa Fe resident Robert D. Blagg celebrated his 90th birthday. Celebrating with him were his children Robin, Becky Doo, Daver Man and Winnie Facer, along with his wife, Nancy, and granddaughter, Ria. A luncheon festooned with balloons and filled with merriment and song completed the afternoon. When you see Bob on the street, loved ones say, tell him you now know his real age and wish him a happy 90th.
