Santa Fe Public Schools’ Board of Education holds two meetings this week. At 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6, the board will interview the two candidates vying for board member Linda Trujillo’s District 4 board seat, which she will vacate in December.

The two candidates are Rudy Garcia and John Salazar, both county employees. The board will vote to choose a successor in a December board meeting. Monday’s meeting, which will be held at the district’s Educational Services Center, 610 Alta Vista St., is open to the public.

At 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, the board holds its regularly scheduled meeting at the Educational Services Center.

The agenda for that meeting includes an update on librarian staffing in the district, a vote on whether to allow high school seniors to go off campus for lunch, and a discussion of legislative priorities for the upcoming January 2018 session. The agenda for the meeting can be found at www.sfps.info. Click on the “board of education” link.

Finally, the district’s Citizens Review Committee, a group of volunteer citizens who review capital and construction projects for the district, will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8 to discuss project updates, including progress on the Milagro Middle School facility on Llano Street. That meeting also will be held at the district’s Educational Services Center.
