N.M. Hospitality Association announces 2017 winners
The New Mexico Hospitality Association has announced the 2017 winners for the Top HAT (Hospitality and Tourism) Awards. All the winners were recognized at a Nov. 14 banquet at the Hotel Albuquerque. Winners in the category of marketing are:
Best Broadcast Campaign — NBC Universal Commercial Spots, Visit Albuquerque, Agency: Marble Street Studios; McKee Wallwork + Co.
Best Digital Campaign — The Andaluz Experience, Hotel Andaluz, Agency: boomtime.
Best Print Campaign — 2017 Visitors Guide, Santa Fe County, Agency: HK Advertising.
Most Innovative Campaign — Rainy Day Discounts, Routes Bicycle Tours & Rentals. For personnel:
Back of house food and beverage employee of the year — Teresita Norwood, cook, Hyatt Regency Albuquerque.
Back of the house hospitality employee of the year — Carlos Dominguez, maintenance engineer, La Fonda on the Plaza.
Front of the house food and beverage employee of the year — Gabe Martinez, evening manager, La Fonda on the Plaza.
Front of the house hospitality employee of the year — Marco Chamorro, Valet Attendant, Isleta Resort & Casino.
Additionally, the New Mexico True Atomic Spy Tour sponsored by Los Alamos Commerce was honored for best new experience; the Sunrise Springs Spa Resort in Santa Fe County was named best full-service hotel of the year; Paul Thompson of Santa Fe Valet was named hospitality vendor/supplier of the year; and Wendi Gelfound, Big W inc., formerly of Ojo Spa Resorts, was named tourism professional of the year.
