‘New Mexican’ real estate writer Weideman recognized by local architects association
Santa Fe New Mexican real estate writer Paul Weideman was among the honorees at the Santa Fe chapter of the American Institute of Architects Design Awards dinner Thursday night at La Posada.
Weideman received a Special Service Award, given to individuals or groups who have demonstrated significant accomplishments in stimulating public understanding and appreciation of architecture in the Santa Fe community. Other honorees included:
Atkin Olshin Schade Architects, which received the Honor Award for 28 new guest rooms and renovation of existing farm buildings at Los Poblanos Historic Inn & Organic Farm in Albuquerque.
Satzinger Design Inc., which received an Honor Award for Casa Cielo residence in Santa Fe.
Thomas Gifford, who received a Merit Award for Hooghan Hozho multifamily project for 44 Navajo families in Gallup.
Hoopes + Associates, which received a Merit Award for the OTA Contemporary Gallery remodel in Santa Fe.
Atkin Olshin Schade Architects, which received a Merit Award for Wa-Di Housing, 41 new units, at Santo Domingo Pueblo.
Spears Horn Architects, which received a Citation Award for WIC Offices (unbuilt) at Santa Ana Pueblo.
Architect John Padilla, who received a Turquoise Medal service award, given in recognition of distinguished service to the profession of architecture, or in acknowledgment of a significant body of work that has had lasting influence on the theory and practice of architecture in Santa Fe.
