On Trump, silence is deafening from Congress
Iam appalled and disappointed that so few of our legislators have failed to challenge Donald Trump in the media, in public forums and on the floor of the Congress. There is no “volume” or “outrage.” Overall, there has been very little response to the madman who is flushing our country down the toilet.
Every day there is another unimaginable tweet, statement or action to undo everything this country has achieved over the past 100 years. The silence on the part of both our federal and state representatives is almost as disgusting as Trump. What are our legislators so afraid of ? Offending their corporate supporters?
Trump’s mental and behavioral instability pose a serious threat to our democracy and global security. The outcry is loud and clear in other countries. The Parliament of the United Kingdom has no reservations about loudly debating and criticizing Trump. Just look at the media reports quoting other world leaders, the mayor of London, and the list goes on. Why are we not hearing a similar response from our leaders? Ironic that most of the folks who have raised their voices are some of Trump’s own party members (Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz; Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn.; Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz.; Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine; etc.). It’s time this country’s leaders take their heads out of the sand and be heard.
