6 p.m. on CNN New Year’s Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen

For 10 years Anderson Cooper’s co-host for this funny, loose New Year’s Eve special was Kathy Griffin, but that association fell apart earlier this year when the comic and CNN parted ways. Still, expect the mood to be, if anything, more festive than ever, as Cooper is joined on his Times Square perch by his real-life best friend, Bravo executive Andy Cohen. He’s a natural to play the naughty extrovert to Cooper’s more buttoned-up cable news guy.

7 p.m. on FOX Fox’s New Year’s Eve With Steve Harvey: Live From Times Square

The man with 100 television jobs these days (or so it seems), Harvey, pictured, has been no stranger to Fox lately, having hosted the Miss Universe Pageant and Showtime at the Apollo specials. Now, he becomes Mr. New Year’s Eve for the network in New York’s Times Square, welcoming music acts and celebrity guests to help get 2018 off to a festive start. Maria Menounos serves as co-host, with Celine Dion, Neil Diamond and Macklemore featuring Skylar Grey among the scheduled performers.

7 p.m. on ABC Dick Clark’s Primetime New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2018

Seacrest continues in the footsteps of late entertainment legend Clark by introducing such musical acts as Mariah Carey (back after last year’s performance that she and the producers allow “didn’t go exactly as planned”), Camila Cabello, Nick Jonas and Sugarland to help ring in the new year in New York’s Times Square. Jenny McCarthy will assist Seacrest again, while Ciara becomes a first-time host of the Hollywood segments.

8 p.m. on SHOW SMILF

Series writer, creator, director and star Frankie Shaw quickly established herself as a formidable new voice in comedy when this tart, smart sitcom premiered earlier this season, and it was no surprise when Showtime quickly greenlit Season 2. For now, however, the freshman round of this series wraps with “Mark’s Lunch & Two Cups of Coffee,” in which single mom Bridgette (Shaw) is matched with her estranged dad on the hook-up site Tinder.

9 p.m. on LIFEMOV Movie: Family of Lies

After their parents are killed in a mysterious car wreck, Emily (Christa B. Allen, Revenge) and her younger siblings move to a small town in Louisiana. Strange things soon begin happening, however, and the family can’t shake the strong feeling that someone is watching them. After Emily unravels the truth about that fatal car accident, she has to take desperate measures to protect her siblings.
