Courtney Morgan Stratton of Los Alamos was named to the Dean’s List at the University of Memphis for the fall 2017 semester.

Dennis Davies-Wilson, Irina Alvestad and Kristy Nadler of The University of New Mexico-Los Alamos were recognized earlier this month as the most recent recipients of the UNM-LA Faculty Initiative Award.
The Faculty Initiative Award was established in 2005, when a retired UNM-LA instructor started an endowment to encourage creativity and initiative within the faculty.
Librarian Davies-Wilson’s proposal, “Captivating Students with Adobe Captivate,” is part of his initiative to implement information literacy training into courses at the campus.
Alvestad, an associate professor of mathematics, designed an initiative to accelerate the completion of math prerequisites in order to increase the matriculation of students in STEM programs.
Nadler, adjunct faculty of psychology and of university studies, proposed “Motivational Learning for Student Success.”
