Esther (Esther Povitsky) makes a visit to a fertility clinic to have some of her eggs frozen in case they’re needed for some future personal use, but she later decides to offset some of the costs of the procedure by donating some of her eggs to be used by other clients in the new episode “Fertility.” Meanwhile, Benji (Benji Aflalo) is surprised to feel his own paternal instincts kicking in as he awaits word on a sperm test.

7 p.m. on ABC The Goldbergs

ABC is promoting “The Goldbergs: 1990-Something” as a special event, but it’s actually a pilot for a quasispino­ff that takes place in the same Philadelph­ia high school Adam Goldberg and his siblings once attended. This new show takes place in the 1990s, though, as former teacher John Glascott (Tim Reid), now head of school, leads a faculty of teachers with clashing views on how best to mentor students.

In a new episode aptly titled “Worst Day Ever,” Bobby (Peter Krause) and his team rush to the scene of a horrific plane crash and try to help the traumatize­d survivors, while Athena (Angela Bassett) struggles to keep a lid on panic and escalating chaos.

8 p.m. on SPIKE Waco

Michael Shannon and Taylor Kitsch share top billing for this new limited series (simulcast on CMT), which chronicles the events leading up to and during the 51-day standoff in 1993 between the Branch Davidian religious sect led by David Koresh (Kitsch) in the titular Texas town and federal officers from the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, supervised by FBI negotiator Gary Noesner (Shannon).

8:02 p.m. on HIST Knightfall

Those inside the Paris Temple of the Knights Templar find themselves sorely under siege in the new episode “IV.” While the cunning De Nogaret (Julian Ovenden) sows seeds of doubt and suspicion in the mind of King Philip (Ed Stoppard).
