Beloved mother and grandmothe­r, Elizabeth Ann Massey, of Santa Fe, New Mexico, passed away Feb. 28, 2018, at the age of 80.

Born in Arkansas in 1937, Liz moved to the base of the Rocky Mountains, Longmont, Colorado, in 1945, and attended St. John’s Catholic School and Longmont High School. She moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1988, and retired among the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Elizabeth wrote an award-winning column for many Colorado newspapers, sprightly recounting the daily adventures and trials of living with her son and husband. Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents, John and Agnes Denne; and her siblings Dorothy Denne, John Denne, and Harold W. Denne.

Liz is survived by her husband, Paul L. Massey of Santa Fe; son David Massey, his wife Kristine and their daughter, Claire, of Austin, Texas; daughter Lynda Cooke, her husband Tom of Colorado Springs, Colorado and their daughter, Christina Cooke, of Chicago; Stepchildr­en Randall Massey and his wife Dana of Del Mar, California, Ann Burnett and her husband Jerry of Aurora, Colorado, Becky McClure and her husband John of Lawrence, Kansas, John Massey, also of Del Mar, California; Susan and her husband Chris, of Sun Valley Idaho, Amy Massey of Southern California; Sisters-in-law Anna Belle Denne and Stella Denne; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to say thanks to the Gorman family, Anita and George Ortiz and Presbyteri­an Hospice staff for their support during this difficult time.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with a funeral service to begin at 12:00 PM, on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Berardinel­li Funeral Home, with interment to immediatel­y follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
