The opening hour is set in Hellertown, Pa., where a racist video posted on Snapchat ignites a fight between students at a local high school. Ferguson) doesn’t have a traditiona­l reason for detaching from his smartphone in the new episode “False Idol,” as Father Gene and Rabbi Gil (Ian Gomez, David Krumholtz) suggest that his devotion to the device is a form of worship.
