Honoring school’s history

The Santa Fe University of Art and Design campus is not a plum for the picking. The school has a history of serving and enriching our community. I have enjoyed many events there, marveling at students’ skill and artistry. Teachers and the many students who have chosen to stay have shared their talents with us and become a vital part of our city. Do we want all this creative energy to disappear? I know Santa Fe has many needs, particularly affordable housing and economic development. The university campus is large, with many buildings. There is room for quite a few programs, which could interweave and stimulate each other. Let us find a way to make creative media one of the priorities and continue to honor a history that will keep inspiring us. Anna Katherine
