Meanwhile, Archie’s (KJ Apa) mother, Mary (guest star Molly Ringwald), blows into town during a miserably time for father and son. 8 p.m. on CW Life Sentence Now serving as an advocate for cancer patients, Stella (Lucy Hale) hopes the positive effects of a process she tried will be the same for someone else (guest star Nadej Bailey) — only to learn the process is no longer available — in the new episode “Clinical Trial and Error.” Baby sitter Wes (Elliot Knight) gets assistance from Ida (Gillian Vigman). Aiden and Peter (Jayson Blair, Dylan Walsh) have a night on the town together. 11 p.m. on FX The Assassinat­ion of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story This chronicle of fame-obsessed Andrew Cunanan’s (Darren Criss) horrifying murder spree, which included the cold-blooded murder of beloved Miami-based fashion designer Gianni Versace, comes to a predictabl­y violent end, just as the life of its troubled central figure does, in “Alone,” the Season 2 finale of this anthologiz­ed crime drama.
