CHILDREN’S CHESS CLUB: The Santa Fe Children’s Chess Club meets every Wednesday evening at the Main Library, 145 Washington Ave., 5:45 to 7:45 p.m. BOOKS AND BABIES: Children can come and enjoy books, songs and finger games from 10:30 to 11 a.m.; Oliver La Farge Branch Library. PRESCHOOL STORY TIME: Stories, rhymes, songs, crafts and more for children ages 2 to 5 from 10:45 to 11:30 a.m. at the Southside Branch Library. “THE RIGHT TO BE WILD”: The Jean Cocteau Cinema, 418 Montezuma Ave., presents a screening of this film at 6 p.m., followed by a question-andanswer session with the film’s producer, Madeleine Torneman, in celebratio­n of the 20th anniversar­y of the release of Mexican gray wolves into the wild in New Mexico and Arizona. The Right to be Wild tells the story of the wolf’s recovery and the conservati­onists working to bring the species back from extinction. “MOVING HEARTS”: Moving Arts Española celebrates its 10th anniversar­y with a performanc­e series. The opening performanc­e, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Northern New Mexico College’s Nick Salazar Center for the Arts in Española, is Cuicacalli Escuela de Danza y Mariachi Juvenil from San Francisco, a troupe of youth and adult folklorico dancers and mariachi musicians. Tickets are $7 for students and seniors and $10 for adults; priority seating is $15. Refreshmen­ts will be served.
