6 p.m. on ABC Movie: The Ten Commandments Charlton Heston, Yul Brynner and Anne Baxter star in director Cecil B. DeMille’s final film, the 1956 biblical epic about the life of Moses. The picture’s first-rate visual effects include the parting of the Red Sea — and bear in mind what a wonder that was for moviegoers at the time, well before the computer-generated effects of today. Yvonne De Carlo, Nina Foch, John Derek and Vincent Price co-star, with little Fraser Heston as the infant Moses.

7 p.m. on HALL Movie: Home by Spring Poppy Drayton, pictured, (The Shannara Chronicles) stars in this 2018 romantic drama as an ambitious event planner who gets the career opportunity of a lifetime. Passing herself off as her boss, she returns to her rural hometown to coordinate a major event, with a little help from her family and a special guy (Steven R. McQueen, The Vampire Diaries). 7 p.m. on SHOW Movie: Operation Odessa This engrossing new true-crime documentary from filmmaker Tiller Russell chronicles how a Russian mobster, a Cuban spy and a Miami playboy sold a Soviet submarine to a Colombian drug cartel for $35 million. Playing much like an early 1990s action caper, the film relates how these three buddies set out to run a con on the Cali cartel, the Russian mob and the DEA for — they hoped, at least — the score of their lifetimes. What could possibly go wrong?

8 p.m. on OWN The Book of John Gray After John’s out-of-control diabetes lands him in the emergency room, Aventer decides it’s time to practice tough love, so she recruits celebrity trainer AJ Johnson to lay down the law to her spouse in the new “The Chapter on a Mother’s Love.” That title refers to a later part of the episode, which finds John counseling two mothers. The first is devastated by grief over the recent loss of her daughter, while the second is suffocating her son, a college student.
