CHILDREN’S CHESS CLUB: Meets every Wednesday evening at the Main Library, 5:45 to 7:45 p.m. BOOKS AND BABIES: Books, songs and finger games from 10:30 to 11 a.m.; La Farge Branch Library. PRESCHOOL STORY TIME: Stories, rhymes, songs and crafts for children ages 2 to 5 from 10:45 to 11:30 a.m. at the Southside Branch Library. WEE WEDNESDAYS AT THE CHILDREN’S MUSEUM: A morning of discovery for toddlers from 9 to 11 a.m. The museum opens an hour early. Admission is $7.50 for adults, $5 for children and free for infants.

FRIDAY AFTERNOON ART: Learn how to make a mobile. The Santa Fe Public Library presents this free art activity for kids at the Southside Branch Library, 6599 Jaguar Drive, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
