Shop ’til you drop for Dixon library

- MY VIEW KRISTINE MACKAIN

The Embudo Valley Library and Community Center’s yard and boutique sale is from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28, in front of the library in downtown Dixon. This year’s sale promises to have something for everyone — one-of-a-kind vintage items, beautiful clothes and accessories, jewelry, tools, gardening, art books and cookbooks, kitchenware, sports equipment and much more. The Embudo Valley Library sponsors the sale, and all proceeds benefit the library.

Featured items donated so far include a huge collection of cookbooks, vintage and ethnic clothing and fabric, a dulcimer, bicycle, Harley Davidson women’s vest, vintage manual typewriter and two printers in excellent condition.

To display our finest and most interesting items, including a pristine vintage wedding dress, we’ve converted our community center into a dazzling and atmospheric boutique. Many boutique donations have come from as far as Santa Barbara, Calif., and Denver as well as Santa Fe.

Those attending the sale will not leave hungry. This year we introduce an exciting street-food concept that is the current rage in American food circles — grilled bratwurst, hot dogs, turkey dogs and veggie dogs all crowned with delicious innovative toppings and caramelized onions (as well as simple mustard and ketchup for the less adventurous). Shoppers can eat at picnic tables nearby. Drinks are provided on-site, and tea and coffee are available next door at the Dixon Cooperative Market.

Whether rain or shine, it’s the time to visit our boutique and yard sale in front of the Dixon library. Eat delicious food. And at these prices, you can shop ’til you drop.
