DONALD EDWARD HOLMAN FEBRUARY 28, 1942 - APRIL 19, 2018

-

Native Philadelphian Donald Edward Holman was born February 28, 1942. He was the eldest child of Irene and Elmer Holman. They established their household early in Southern California and added a brother James and sister Kathleen to their family. Don’s childhood incorporated a mix of aunts and uncles, countless cousins, Roy Rogers, family camping trips, Catholic grade school, Lakewood High School, community college, the US Navy, and UCLA. Lifelong friendships and lifetime loves, mixed with copious amounts of laughter and wit, set the stage for his life. As a UCLA Bruins’ alumni and fan, he passionately followed all UCLA sports. His business degree landed him an administrative position with the City of Pasadena where he met and married the love of his life, Allane Wamboldt, in 1970. The two celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary in September 2017.

In 1980, Don and his family, which now included Jennifer and Timothy, moved to Santa Fe. Jennifer and Tim, nurtured by Don’s generous love, curiosity, humor, wisdom, and above all, wit, flourished and became the prides of his life.

After many years in administration, Don chose to go into real estate where he had a successful and rewarding career. In 2005, he was recognized as Santa Fe Realtor of the Year and retired in 2013. Don and Allane loved road trips and traveling in their small RV, exploring the country, and visiting family and friends.

Don’s passing on April 19th, 2018 in Santa Fe is mourned by his family: wife Allane Holman; daughter Jennifer Holman (Jason Scheuplein) of Roseville, CA; son Tim Holman (Deborah Mhoon) of Santa Fe; brother James Holman of Huntington Beach, CA; sister Kathleen Holman of San Francisco, CA; and extended family and dear friends.
