Tuesday, May 8, 2018 PORTALS OF THE NEW JERUSALEM: From 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 1701 Arroyo Chamiso Road, the Rev. William Tabbernee will discuss “The Archaeolog­ical Discovery of the Long-Lost ‘Vatican’ of an Early Christian Movement.” This talk will describe and illustrate though a PowerPoint presentati­on how the the site was found and summarize the archaeolog­ical field work conducted at the site in subsequent years. The discovery solved a historical mystery and provides new insights into a fascinatin­g early form of Christiani­ty that eventually was deemed heretical by the bishops and other leaders of what became mainstream orthodox Christiani­ty. The event is free to the public. SOUTHWEST SEMINARS: At 6 p.m. at Hotel Santa Fe, 1501 Paseo de Peralta, Sara Niedbalski will discuss “Genomic Consequenc­es of the First Migration in the Americas.” The cost is $15 at the door.
